Singapore 26/3/2024 – In a whirlwind of creativity, innovation, and sheer excitement, the FIRST® LEGO® League Singapore 23/24 competition recently concluded, leaving behind a trail of unforgettable memories and inspiring moments. As we reflect on this remarkable journey, let’s recap the highlights of this extraordinary event.
Unveiling the Masterpieces
With the theme MASTERPIECE℠ at its core, the competition challenged participants to explore the realms of science, technology, engineering, art, and math (STEAM), pushing the boundaries of imagination and ingenuity. Hosted at the esteemed Canadian International School, Singapore, the event brought together over 320 teams, over 1,300 students, comprising both local talents and international contenders.
Days of Intense Competition
Over the course of 3 action-packed days, participants engaged in a series of presentations and Robot Runs, showcasing their technical prowess and creative flair. The first two days saw local teams taking centre stage, followed by the arrival of overseas contenders on the final day, adding a global dimension to the competition.

On the morning of the third and final day of the competition, the overseas team joined us and completed their presentation and robot run. In the afternoon, the top performing local teams were invited back to join us in the finals, where both local and overseas teams competed against each other.
A Spectacular Finale
The event culminated in a mesmerising award ceremony, marked by a captivating performance from Swiss Blue Cheese, one of the participating teams from Swiss Cottage Secondary School. Against the backdrop of the MASTERPIECE℠ theme, participants and guests were treated to a spectacle of talent and innovation.
Words of Inspiration
Mr Hozefa Aziz, President of Developing Innovative Youth Ltd, delivered a stirring address, emphasising the importance of innovation and collaboration in STEAM education. His words resonated with participants, underscoring the transformative power of creativity and teamwork.

Celebrating Excellence
The highlight of the evening was the presentation of awards, honouring outstanding achievements across various categories. From primary to secondary divisions, and across international boundaries, participants were lauded for their exemplary performance and unwavering dedication.
The awards ceremony commenced with a spectacular cover of Counting Stars by OneRepublic, courtesy of the talented Swiss Blue Cheese team from Swiss Cottage Secondary School. Their energy set the stage for an unforgettable evening celebrating the achievements of young innovators.
Following the performance, attendees were treated to a captivating video highlighting the memorable moments of this year’s FLL Challenge. The video showcases the creativity, innovation, and teamwork displayed by all participating teams throughout the competition.
Mr Ehsanul Islam from Qualcomm delivered an inspiring speech, highlighting the importance of innovation and collaboration in driving positive change. His words resonated with the audience, serving as a source of inspiration for aspiring young innovators.
Special recognition awards were then presented to teams that demonstrated exceptional creativity, problem-solving skills, and teamwork. These awards demonstrate the remarkable talent and dedication displayed by participating teams.
Mr. Selva Subbiahm took the stage to present the judges’ awards, honouring teams for their outstanding performance in various categories. The awards underscored the diverse talents and innovative solutions showcased by teams across different challenges.
Ms. Judy Kay from the Canadian International School graced the stage to present the remaining awards, further highlighting the school’s commitment to fostering excellence in education and innovation.
The awards ceremony concluded with a short teaser for the upcoming FLL season, leaving attendees eagerly anticipating the next chapter in this exciting journey of innovation and discovery.
